Tick-borne encephalitis vaccine for children older than 1 year and younger than 16 years. The vaccine is injected into the upper arm.
Vaccination scheme
The vaccine is administered in three doses at the following intervals: the first dose is administered on the selected date, the second dose is administered 1 to 3 months later, and the third dose is administered 5 to 12 months after the second dose.
There is also an accelerated vaccination schedule, where the vaccine is given at intervals: the first dose on the chosen date, the second dose 14 days later, and the third dose 5 to 12 months after the second dose.
The first re-vaccination is done 3 years after the third dose.
The next vaccination is done after 3 to 5 years. Regardless of whether the previous doses were applied in the basic or accelerated scheme.
When is it necessary to postpone vaccination?
You must not be acutely ill at the time of vaccination, physical exertion, visiting the sauna, solarium, or large consumption of alcoholic beverages is not recommended on the day of application. The interval between the previous and next vaccination must be at least 2 weeks. You must not take antibiotics at the time of vaccination.
Most commonly reported side effects
Soreness, redness at the injection site, headache, muscle and joint pain, lack of appetite, restlessness, sleep disturbances, nausea, fatigue.
