Haiti

United States
Poliomyelitis: In late June, vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (cVDPV2) infection was confirmed in the United States for the first time since 2013. The 20-year-old was temporarily treated at a clinic in Rockland County, New York, for paralysis. Authorities say polioviruses were detected in wastewater samples in the county before the man became ill.
