Bangladesh

Vietnam
Rabies: a 23-year-old woman died in Lào Cai province (N) in March. About 18 months ago she was bitten by the family dog and 3 days after the incident the animal died. Last year, 40 deaths were confirmed by the end of August. In case of suspected contact with an animal, a doctor must be consulted immediately. Preventive vaccination is strongly recommended, especially in case of foreseeable risks and for longer stays. Consultation with a physician experienced in travel medicine should be provided well in advance of travel.
