Dukoral
Vaccine against cholera, designed for adults and children – aged 2 up to 65 years. It is in the forms of a drink. One hour before and after application it is prohibited to eat, drink and take any other medicaments (orally).
Vaccination scheme
The interval between doses depends on age of the vaccinated person:
Children aged 2 to 6 years: they get three doses in at least one-week intervals. In case of more than 6 weeks to elapse, vaccination must start again from the beginning. A booster is administrated after 6 months.
Children above 6 years of age and adults: 2 doses with at least one-week interval. In case of more than 6 weeks to elapse, vaccination must start again from the beginning. A booster is administrated in the course of 2 years from the vaccination.
When it is necessary to postpone the vaccination?
You mustn´t suffer from any acute disease at the time of vaccination. On the day of application it is recommended to avoid any strains, sauna or excessive alcohol drinking. At least 2 weeks must have elapsed from / to the next vaccination. You mustn´t take antibiotics at the time of vaccination.
Most frequently reported undesirable effects
Headache, diarrhoea, flatulence, ventral confusions.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding
The vaccine may be applied even in pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
