SHINGRIX

A vaccine against shingles and for the prevention of its complications, such as postherpetic neuralgia. It is intended primarily for individuals over 50 years of age, or for those 18 years of age and older who are at increased risk of shingles (due to an impaired immune system). The vaccine is not intended to protect against chickenpox. The vaccine is administered into the upper arm.

Vaccination schedule:

• Vaccination is given in 2 doses between 2-6 months.
• A booster shot has not been scheduled.

When is it necessary to postpone vaccination?

• You must not be acutely ill (acute febrile illness) at the time of vaccination.
• On the day of application, it is not recommended to exercise, visit the sauna, solarium or consume alcoholic beverages.
• No specific spacing from other vaccines is necessary.

Most commonly reported side effects:

• Soreness, tenderness, redness and swelling at the injection site.
• General muscle pain, headache, temperature.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• It is recommended to postpone vaccination during pregnancy.
• Vaccine administration during breastfeeding has not been evaluated.
