Twinrix Adult (for adults)

Hepatitis A and B vaccine for people aged 16 years and older. The vaccine is injected into the upper arm.

Vaccination scheme

The vaccine is administered in three doses at the following intervals: the first dose is administered on the selected date, the second dose is administered 1 month later and the third dose is administered 6 months after the first dose.

There is also an accelerated vaccination schedule where the vaccine is given at intervals: the first dose on the chosen date, the second dose 7 days later, the third dose 21 days after the first dose and the fourth dose 12 months after the first dose.

No vaccination has been prescribed.

When is it necessary to postpone vaccination?

You must not be acutely ill at the time of vaccination, physical exertion, visiting the sauna, solarium, or large consumption of alcoholic beverages is not recommended on the day of application. The interval between the previous and next vaccination must be at least 2 weeks. You must not take antibiotics at the time of vaccination.

Most commonly reported side effects

Soreness, tenderness, redness and swelling at the injection site, headache, nausea, fever, drowsiness.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding

In the case of pregnant women, it is recommended to postpone vaccination until after the birth, unless it is absolutely necessary to protect the mother against hepatitis B infection. In the case of breastfeeding, the benefits of breastfeeding for the baby and the benefits of vaccination for the woman must be weighed.
