Vaccine against tick-borne encephalitis designed for persons above 12 years of age. The vaccine is applied to the upper part of an arm.

Vaccination scheme

It is vaccinated by three doses in the following time terms: the first dose is applied on the selected day, the second dose in 1 up to 3 months (it is also possible to apply the second dose 14 days after the first dose) and the third dose is applied 9 up to 12 months after the second dose.

There exists even an accelerated vaccination scheme, when the vaccination is performed as follows: the first dose on the selected day, the second dose in 7 days and the third dose is applied 21 days after the first dose. The first booster is applied in 12 up to 18 months after the third dose.

The first re-vaccination is performed in 3 years after the third dose administration. The next re-vaccination is performed after 5 years in persons aged 12 – 49 years, respectively every 3 years in case persons above 49 years of age.

When it is necessary to postpone the vaccination?

You mustn´t suffer from any acute disease at the time of vaccination. On the day of application it is recommended to avoid any strains, sauna or excessive alcohol drinking. At least 2 weeks must have elapsed from / to the next vaccination. You mustn´t take antibiotics at the time of vaccination.

Most frequently reported undesirable effects

Soreness, redness a swelling in the point of vaccination, sub-febrils, headache and aches of muscles, fits of perspiration, cold fever.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding

It is necessary to carefully consider the risks and benefits of vaccination at pregnant or breastfeeding women.
