GARDASIL-9
A vaccine against HPV (human papillomavirus), which causes cervical, laryngeal and anal cancer and genital warts.
It protects against the 9 most risky types of HPV.
It is primarily for boys and girls aged 9 to 25 years, when its effectiveness is highest.
Vaccination at older ages is possible. The vaccine is injected into the upper arm.
Vaccination schedule:
- Up to and including 14 years of age, the vaccine is given in 2 doses 6-12 months apart.
- From the age of 15 years, there is a 3-dose schedule: first dose, followed by a second dose after 2 months and a third dose after 6 months.
- No vaccination has been prescribed.
When is it necessary to postpone vaccination?
- You must not be acutely ill (acute febrile illness) at the time of vaccination.
- On the day of application, it is not recommended to exercise, visit the sauna, solarium or consume alcoholic beverages.
- No specific spacing from other vaccines is necessary.
Most commonly reported side effects:
- Soreness, tenderness, redness and swelling at the injection site.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
- Vaccination must be postponed during pregnancy.
- It is possible to vaccinate during breastfeeding.
