History of the Travel Medicine Center
A Tradition in Travel Medicine Since 1997
The Travel Medicine Center in Prague was founded in 1997 by Professor Vladimír Šerý and Jan Rutsch.
Professor Šerý was one of the founders of modern travel medicine in the Czech Republic and a leading expert in the fields of epidemiology, tropical medicine, and preventive medicine. MUDr. Jan Rutsch brought extensive practical experience, including work in tropical regions, and played a long-standing role in shaping the center’s professional direction.
In the early days of the center, MUDr. Zdenka Manďáková and Libuše Banďouchová, M.D. , which contributed to the development of the center's professional infrastructure.
Dr. Jan Rutsch passed away on May 13, 2023. His professional work, his experience in tropical medicine, and his compassionate approach remain an enduring part of the history of the Center for Travel Medicine.
Travel Medicine and Vaccinations
Since its inception, the center has focused on:

Current Team of Experts
The center's chief physician is Veronika Jegorova, M.D. , who also serves as deputy chief of staff at her other clinical practice.
The team of experts also includes Michal Skurák, M.D. , which has long been dedicated to the prevention of HIV and other communicable diseases.
