The vaccine against Japanese encephalitis is intended for people from 2 months of age. The vaccine is injected into the upper arm.

Vaccination scheme

The vaccine is administered in two doses, spaced as follows: the first dose is administered on the selected day, the second dose is administered 28 days later.

A booster dose is recommended 12 to 24 months after the second dose.

When is it necessary to postpone vaccination?

You must not be acutely ill at the time of vaccination, physical exertion, visiting the sauna, solarium, or large consumption of alcoholic beverages is not recommended on the day of application. The interval between the previous and next vaccination must be at least 2 weeks. You must not take antibiotics at the time of vaccination.

Most commonly reported side effects

Headache, nausea, soreness, redness, swelling and tenderness at the injection site, flu-like illness.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding

As a precaution, vaccination should be avoided during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
